One of the first community music projects we created was JINJA SCHOOLS BAND in Jinja district, Uganda. We are a nonprofit music band and our aim is to offer free extracurricular music classes to all young people in the community while providing school fees through sponsorship and offering other educational, professional opportunities to fight against child labour.
Jinja Schools Band can only survive because of your much appreciated donations. We use the band as a method of attracting sponsors from overseas to invest in children’s education by making a monthly donation to the cost of fees, uniforms, exams and healthcare. Jinja School sponsors can monitor the progress of their child through watching them play in our brass band videos on our Facebook page called Jinja schools band.
